Investment Manager
What it is
An AI feature that reads everything already computed and recorded about a deal — underwriting, Investment Score, Data Confidence Score, due diligence findings, STR regulatory status, and your stated investment thesis — and produces a written synthesis: a thesis narrative, strengths, weaknesses, unknowns, and a risk summary.
Why / when you'd use it
Use it once you have some real data on a deal (at minimum an underwriting analysis, some due diligence findings, or a stated thesis) and want a single, readable narrative pulling it all together — the kind of write-up you'd otherwise have to draft yourself from all the other panels.
The recommendation is never chosen by the AI. It's copied directly from your deterministic Investment Score — Investment Manager can explain and contextualize the score, but it cannot override it. See Limits & Expectations.
Running it
Select Run investment manager. This is a genuine AI call and can take 10–20 seconds.

The result shows the recommendation badge (with the underlying score), then:
- Thesis — a narrative summary of the investment case
- Strengths
- Weaknesses
- Unknowns — gaps in the data, stated plainly rather than papered over
- Risk summary
Agent runs
Below the synthesis, the Agent runs table logs every AI feature that's run on this deal — Investment Manager, Due diligence, and the research agents — with status, model, token counts, and a summary. This is a real audit trail, not just for Investment Manager: it's the same log every AI feature on the deal writes to.
If it fails
Occasionally a run shows "Failed to run the investment manager" instead of a result. This is a known, occasional reliability limitation of the underlying AI call — not something wrong with your data. Select Run investment manager again; a retry typically succeeds. See FAQ / Troubleshooting and Limits & Expectations.
